These are not the classic "pop up in a new window" pop ups, they're the "pop up entirely within the webpage" pop ups.

I think they are called pop-over's and I agree not the most user friendly.Â
AdBlock – right-click the offending element, and block it.
I was of the "never coming back" mindset as well, but it severely limited my choice of sites to browse (and also it was really hard to remember which sites to avoid, there were so many).
I wish I could turn off install our app things from mobile devices as well!
Checkbox for im never ever installing your app. Ever. Stop asking.
Amen…my favorite is real estate sites and claims they won't sell my email address…uh huh.
