  1. Awesome.  Google automatically tagged this with #Garden

  2. Spent last weekend doing the same, nice work and kinda cheating using a digger lol

  3. The hill I garden on is too steep or a backhoe, I wish I could do this :s

  4. Nice!

+Vincent Litchard if you're doing raised beds, you can build a  base for the bottom and use stilts on one side to support it. Also, if doing square foot gardening, there's no rule that says your beds have to be more than one foot wide (or one third meter if you prefer the metric version). So you could build terraces, say 1'W/4'L/1'D.

  5. Nice lookin' peppers & tomatoes

  6. Looks like you had help. 🙂

  7. Nice project, but do you mind if I ask if the backhoe was necessary? How far down did you have to dig?

  8. No, it wasn't necessary. The yard only sloped maybe 6 inches. But I had it available to use, and I don't like to exert myself more than necessary…

Also, since I had it there, I dug up and loosened the clay down a couple of feet under the beds to make it easier for roots.

  9. Gotcha, just wondering, but didn't want to assume you just had a backhoe laying around. Awesome boxes!

  10. That looks great. What kind of wood did you use for your raised gardens?

  11. Cedar fencing planks from Lowes. Just cut off the decorative rounded top and they work great.
