So, in this study of 330 women over 15 years, they found that the nipples of women who did not wear a bra raised an average of 7mm/year towards the shoulders and their breasts became more firm.
Apparently, wearing a bra weakened the supportive tissue…

Brassiere Support Is A Lie, Say French Scientists
In a 15-year study from the University of Besançon in eastern France, sports science professor Jean-Denis Rouillon found that wearing a bra may not

Scientists, Hard at work ^.^
Well I just figured out how to get teenage boys interested in science….
Because that scientist never ran down a flight of stairs sans bra.

Did they do anything to offset the selection bias that goes with choosing to not wear a bra? Did they compare women of similarly sized cup sizes? Do these results hold equally well for small busted women as they do for women with larger breasts?
Also, 7mm per year? That's suggesting that if a woman stops wearing a bra at 18, by the time she's 28, her nipples will damn near be on her shoulders.
I'm hearing a simple conclusion to a rather complex question, and I don't have a lot of trust in the result.

+Christopher Cooke I did wonder about the "Breasts at shoulder-level" thing. I decided to go for a joke rather than an analysis of their study >.<

Wait, this isn't The Onion?

+Christopher Cooke You have as much access to the details of the study as anyone else here, so I don't think anyone will be able to answer your questions.
Unless what you're really doing is trying to point out that designing studies is hard and we can't draw any solid conclusions from one study that we don't even have access to, to which I say "duh"!
I've been beating that drum here in G+ posts for what seems like years. Â Medical/health research in particular are of especially low quality. Â I've shared this link many times:

More or less what I was trying to say was "Seems legit…" without simply falling into the common pitfall that one makes when offering up such a glib comment – you know, presenting sarcasm as justification for skepticism.

The research took 15 years but they only studied women without bras for 2 years, kinda shitty study.
Not comprehensive enough for my tastes, pretty sure being braless for 15 years will have more effects than the women who did wear bra's for 15 years.
vs women without bras for 2 years.
