There's sites like news sites or Wikipedia that feel more "webby" and then there's other sites like Trello, Google Play Music, Google Keep that I use more like regular applications.
I recently started using Chrome's feature that creates "desktop" applications out of sites to use these app-like sites as actual apps.
In Chrome, if you click the 3 dot menu > More tools > Add to desktop, Chrome will add a shortcut on your desktop that opens the current site in its own window that doesn't look like a browser at all. It looks like a desktop app.
I find it a useful mental model and organizational tool to separate my apps and websites in this manner. Maybe you will too.
Cool – thanks for sharing!
+1 for "mental model".
